Behind the Art
Giselle Rutledge was born in Costa Rica. She moved to the United States in 1985 with her then husband to do the detailing part of sculpting. Two years later, Giselle got the hang of the art of sculpting. In 1994, they opened the shop down near Waxahachie, Texas where she and her husband worked together to create the family owned store known as Fine Wood Carvings. After the divorce in 2003, she continued creating her sculptures with the will to go on. She expanded to make creative furniture for others to gaze with original designs since 2006. The Fine Wood Carvings opened their website in 2007.
As Giselle explained, "I think there is a wonderful feeling of knowing that you are giving someone something that will give them joy for years to come." She also said that even though it is a robust gallery of art, her team is small, yet great.
